In 2001, the Museum created the Sackler Institute for Comparative Genomics and has been developing a comprehensive program of bioscience research. Along with maintaining one of the largest non-human frozen tissue collections in the world, Museum scientists have been conducting research on the medicinal properties of leeches and working on infectious diseases such as Avian Flu, SARS, and Malaria. Join Museum scientists, George Amato, Mark Siddall, Rob DeSalle, and Sergios Kolokotronis for a discussion on current Museum research and its implications for human health. Celebrate the summer season with an outdoor terrace cocktail reception featuring a live jazz quartet following the panel.
Panel discussion and cocktail reception. Junior Council Members free. Guests of the Junior Council pay $100 at the door or $80 in advance. Invitation to follow.
